Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since I last posted, and I apologise for that. Life has been keeping me busy, so this will just be a quick one.
A couple of weekends ago, I attended the "Intro to Creative Writing" course at the Brisbane Writers Workshop, and it was an incredible experience. Although it was a bit daunting at first, I learned a lot and received some fantastic feedback.
However, attending the course also brought up some feelings of imposter syndrome. As someone who's still in the early stages of their writing journey, it can be intimidating to learn from experienced writers and instructors. But I've come to realise that feeling like an imposter is entirely normal, and it's something that many writers go through. I just need to remind myself to focus on improving my skills and to keep working hard.
After the course, I reviewed some of my early work and realized that I have a long way to go. But that's okay. Writing is a craft that takes time and practice to master, and every piece I write is an opportunity to improve my skills. So, I'm applying what I learned from the course to my writing, focusing on developing my characters, plot, and dialogue.
In the meantime, I've submitted a few pieces for publication, and while I'm nervous about it, I know that rejection is a part of the writing process. As long as I keep improving with each piece I write, I'll eventually get there.
Right now, I'm working on another short story for a submission, and I'm excited about the direction it's taking. So, it might be a few weeks before I tackle some image writing prompts.
Overall, attending the "Intro to Creative Writing" course was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to attending more writing courses later in the year. I'm excited about the progress I've made so far, and I can't wait to see where my writing takes me next.
Well done .. keep going ..
